  • You will serve as a Welder and be responsible for performing welding work in support of the US Coast Guard (USCG), Naval Engineering Support Unit, Industrial Operations Division. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Welding assignments may include work on lighthouses, aids to Navigation (AtoN), barges, boats, ships, small vessels and their associated equipment. Welding various components of a ship including the shell, broken or cracked engine parts, framing, inner bottoms, tanks, boilers, decks, bulkheads, superstructures, masts, stacks, ventilation ducts, railing, class I piping and similar components. Welding prefabricated subassemblies, buoys, davits, pressure vessel tanks, piping and similar items.
