About the Position: This position is located in OB/GYN In-Patient Ward LD, Director Nursing Services at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Portsmouth, VA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
- Records a variety of physician's orders involving patient activities, diets, and medications, on a timely basis to various charts (Patient Profile, medication and treatment records)
- Identifies various chemical compounds, symbols and abbreviations comprising medication orders and accurately transcribes drug names, dosages, and times of administration.
- Initiates and receives telephone calls to obtain and provide information.
- Records telephone messages pertaining to such things as detailed laboratory reports, X-ray and test results.
- Recognize and refers urgent results to the professional staff for immediate action.
