This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The employee uses a knowledge of the refrigeration cycle of a variety of commercial and industrial systems to locate and check elements such as those whichcontrol pressure, temperature, and the running time of the various mechanisms.

  • Installs, repairs, overhauls, and performs service and preventive maintenance on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial air conditioners, air compressors, boilers, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, ventilation systems, and water heaters.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment to trace and locate defects and malfunctions.
  • Makes periodic inspections and necessary adjustments to controls and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
  • Repairs, installs, overhauls, and/or performs service and preventive maintenance to auxiliary equipment (motors, blowers, pilots, filters, thermostats, pressure stats, humid stats, relays, switches, etc.)
