This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health (OMH), Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center, 250 Dewey Ave, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

As a Mental Health Professional II, you will coordinate and manage the Certified Community Behavioral Center (CCBHC) program. You will be responsible for supporting program development and compliance, supervising assigned staff, coordinating integrated behavioral and physical healthcare services, collaborating with community providers, and providing clinical services to individuals with serious mental illness.

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II:

• Develop, implement and monitor program goals, objectives and strategies.  Ensure compliance with CCBHC certification requirements and regulatory standards. Develop and execute long -term strategic planning to expand and improve CCBHC services.  Promote the CCBHC services and collaborate with other healthcare provides.
• Hire, train and directly supervise clinical and administrative staff.  Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development opportunities. Lead CCBHC Treatment Team.
• Carry a caseload of clients that have comorbid medical and/or substance use disorders that may exacerbate mental health conditions and require a higher level of care.
• Work with other Providers in the community and across the State to ensure that Clients with comorbid Medical/SUD and Mental Disorders can transition services smoothly when moving, changing providers or transitioning to a different level of care.  Assist QA Coordinator in facilitating transfer between OMH Centers/Hospitals, following up with treatment to ensure continuation of services.
• Establish and maintain quality assurance and improvement processes. Monitor clinical outcomes and client satisfaction.  Make data-driven decisions to enhance program effectiveness Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards Support QA Coordinator in completing quarterly audits to ensure compliance with State and Federal standards. Ensure accurate and timely record - keeping and reporting in compliance with regulations. Prepare reports for funding agencies, government entities, and board directors.

• A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.

• Supervisory experience.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Post hire, employees must have: 

• Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of mental health counseling and behavioral health services. 
• Knowledge of serious mental illness (SMI) and knowledge of assessment, treatment planning, case management, crisis intervention, and continuity care. 
• Knowledge of CCBHC requirements, integrated care practices, quality improvement, and applicable state and federal standards. 
• The ability to plan organize, coordinate, and evaluate program services.
• The ability to supervise and provide guidance to staff and the ability to lead and work effectively with a treatment team.
