The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) Social Work Service is currently seeking a Supervisory Administrative Officer. The incumbent oversees and executes all administrative functions, including administration, human resources management, budgeting and finance, management and program analysis (such as analytical, evaluative, and advisory tasks), office support services, document control, logistics, and a range of other related administrative responsibilities.

  • Collaborates with leadership to develop plans ensuring compliance with performance standards. Sets policies, oversees all administrative functions, and guides strategic direction, including budget, staffing, procurement, and space utilization. Responsible for organizational structure, workload analysis, and resource planning. Leads initiatives on equal opportunity, labor relations, and space management. Serves as the acting approving official for supplies and contracts. Reviews contract adjustments and manages the SWS budget, ensuring fiscal accountability. Oversees personnel administration, including staffing, performance standards, and disciplinary actions. Ensures staff are trained and updated on policies. Tracks workload data for leadership reports. Handles accreditation requirements, conducts quality audits, and prepares documentation for compliance and licensing. Coordinates responses to reports from higher organizations. Conducts special studies and investigations, providing recommendations for staffing, workload, and operational improvements. Oversees the SWS budget, including control points, contracts, and personnel costs, ensuring fiscal responsibility. Analyzes resource needs, develops budgets, and implements internal controls aligned with accounting standards. Develops monthly and quarterly cost targets. Oversees budget allocations. Ensures departments operate within approved funding levels. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 07:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
