This position is located within the Facilities Management Service at the Northern VA Health Care System in Prescott, AZ. The incumbent functions in a professional capacity to design, install, test, and maintain facility enterprise systems and their ancillary components. These specially designed systems are constructed, assembled, or modified to fill a unique function for the facility through software and hardware applications.

  • Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs duties of a broad scope and complexity including analyzing, diagnosing, and maintaining electronic and facility enterprise systems. Analyzes organizational needs to design, develop, and implement customized solutions utilizing software and/or hardware. Developing and implementing a support strategy for the customized systems or interfaces. Identifies and remediate hazardous conditions and procedures with electronic and facility enterprise systems and initiates appropriate corrective action. Exercises extensive knowledge, skill, and creativity to keep electronic and facility enterprise systems operational. Responsible for notifying the owning service and the supervisor if they determine equipment or systems should be taken out of service because it is unsafe to operate. Explores alternate options and presents or implements recommendations for temporary solutions to minimize the overall impact on facility operations. Provides technical expertise related to electronic and facility enterprise systems via planning, design, implementation, testing, evaluation, project management, professional consulting and reporting, data mining, and full life cycle management. Develops the necessary requirements, reviews potential contractor submissions for technical soundness, and provides oversight and technical guidance during installation of electronic and facility enterprise systems which may include directing modifications to equipment and or designs to remediate issues presented by unforeseen site conditions.
