This position is located with the Chief Information Office (CIO). The CIO manages the Information Resources environment for the Forest Service. The individual will be responsible for facilitating the coordination with field and Forest Service leadership for all information technology infrastructure, business applications, and information management services. - Supervises and performs the installation and corrective/preventive maintenance of Land Mobile Radio systems which may include:.
- Tower work oversight, repeater diagnostics, and incident support that cannot be performed remotely and require physical presence across multiple forests or service areas.
- Utilizes test equipment including service monitors, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, time domain reflectometers, digital multimeters, signal generators, and megohmmeters.
- Highly skilled, experienced in and comprehensive knowledge of: Radio systems: UHF/VHF radios, portable and mobile radios, antenna systems, base stations, repeaters and microwaves.
- Ability to apply new technologies, experience, and judgment to solve a variety of highly complex technical problems involving researching, analyzing, testing, diagnosing, tuning, and aligning complex radio systems.
