This position to be filled in the Nursing-Birthing Center at the Whiteriver Service Unit in Whiteriver, AZ. The Incumbent will provide direction, leadership, management, and supervision of subordinate's staff, provide performance evaluations, approve leave requests, implement career development plans, and coordinate continuing education needs. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
- Primary responsibilities of this position are to provide supervision, leadership, and direction of subordinate staff on the Obstetric Unit. Oversees Obstetric Unit Nursing Education and Internship program. Approves orientation plan for each new employees specific to their skills and the needs of the unit and agency. Facilitates employee participation for in-services and continuing education by scheduling staff to attend development programs, resulting in more qualified and competent staff. Performs nursing care duties as needed to maintain nursing skills and cover staffing shortages. Maintains clinical competence and expertise in specialty area. Provides skilled and comprehensive nursing care to the patients, who because of the extensiveness and complexity of their condition require frequent for conditions, which may require emergency measures. Gives medication as ordered view approved route. Understands the side effect of these medications.
