This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio.
- Serves as Chief, Environmental Division and senior staff consultant exercising full regulatory oversight and operational control over all environmental program requirements at a large multi-mission installation.
- Directs and mandates the installation-wide Environmental Program in consonance with applicable Department of Defense directives, U.S. Executive Orders, and Headquarters, Department of Army (HQDA) policies and regulations.
- Exercises regulatory oversight and operational control over environmental compliance for all tenant units, industrial operations, and training missions.
- Dictates the operational parameters required to maintain legal compliance with the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and NEPA.
- Directs the Energy Conservation and Management Program and natural resource control programs.
