About the Position This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized for highly qualified candidates Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized.
- Perform duties as a Physician (Neurology) assigned to, Department of Medicine, Neurology Service. Works under the general supervision of the Chief, Neurology Service and Chief, Department of Medicine.
- May be required to perform duties in both outpatient and inpatient settings as well as provide on call/call back services as required.
- Provide the assessment and care of patients with any physical and/or neuropsychiatric condition that disrupts normal brain function resulting in impaired cognition and/or behavior
- Procedures are generally performed in conjunction with office visits or consultations, such as: lumbar punctures, chemo denervation, nerve blocks, subcutaneous / intramuscular injections, (EEGs), nerve conduction studies, and (EMGs).
- Exercise admitting privileges for patients requiring inpatient care or observation, write and/or review initial orders and prepare and/or review notes; coordinate all inpatient and observation unit admissions with the appropriate staff.
