This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: As a Maintenance Mechanic you will be responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of grounds, facilities, and equipment associated with recreation sites, wildlife habitat lands, and water control structures.

  • Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks relating to the general operation and maintenance of physical plant facilities, project grounds parks, wildlife areas and other public use facilities.
  • Install, modify and repair water supply systems, waterborne toilets, sewage systems, drinking fountains, hydrants, automated underground irrigation systems.
  • Construct wooden forms for concrete, measures, cuts and constructs general carpentry.
  • Operate a variety of project vehicles such as trucks, vans, dump trucks, semi-trucks, etc. to haul materials to the site and perform maintenance activities.
  • Operate small craft and single or twin screw diesel boats up to 26 feet to make repairs to docks, floats and other facilities on the rivers or streams, transport materials and personnel, and accomplish other work.
