Department of Agriculture
The position is in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Rural Development (RD), Innovation Center (IC), Data Analytics Division and reports to the Chief Innovation Officer. This position serves as the Director of the Data Analytics Division. The incumbent formulates, shapes, and influences key policies relevant to data structure, data use, and data governance.
- Performs a full range of supervisory functions such planning, organizing, and assigning work, developing performance standards, and providing guidance and direction to staff.
- Identifies and resolves major cross-cutting strategic questions by employing current or new innovative data science tools such as machine learning, neural networks, and other forms of artificial intelligence.
- Directs teams in the alignment of data assets, including unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data, with RD strategies and program priorities to facilitate day-to-day data use by business and operational leaders across RD.
- Develops and maintains controls on data quality, interoperability and sources to effectively manage agency risk associated with the RD’s use of data and analytics.
- Coordinates the annual budget in conjunction with the Chief Innovation Officer.
