Serves as a Medical Laboratory Aid in the Medical Laboratory at Gallup Indian Medical Center, Gallup, NM. Purpose of the position is to perform specific non-professional laboratory tasks in support of higher grade Medical Technicians and Technologists to meet the mission of the Clinical Laboratory. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
- Collect specimens using standard procedures, centrifuges specimens as instructed for serum/plasma preparation. Log, label and prepare specimens for analysis, ensuring proper preservation such as refrigeration. Files reports, retrieves archived specimens, and enters specimen data into Electronic Health Record. Checks temperature logs and notifies senior staff of out-of-range readings.
