Inventory Management Specialist (EX)

This position serves as an Inventory Manager within the Material Management Division of the Logistics Service at the VA Health Care System in Tampa, Hillsborough County. The position is based in Lakeland, Florida. The primary responsibility is to oversee the inventory and lifecycle management of all supplies and durable medical expendable (EX) equipment within the designated area(s) and the surrounding catchment area.

• Include but not limited to: Inventory Management and Control: Responsible for the management and control of an assigned class of expendable material; serves as the point of contact for the coordination of material support and resolution of logistic problems; conducts forecasting and quantitative analysis; conducts spot checks; and complies with special requirements for firearms, ammunition, and sensitive equipment Returns, Recalls, and Reutilization: Implements federal and agency programs for the return and reutilization of medical supplies; coordinates disposal of surplus or excess supplies; makes emergent procurement decisions; and participates in root cause analysis process Performs other related duties as assigned. Driver's License Required: A current, valid state-issued Driver's License is required for this position. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Work is normally accomplished in an office setting; however, due to the nature of the position and duties, may be called upon to assist in the receipt, storage and distribution of various supplies, primarily consisting of lifting light boxes generally less than 40 pounds, utilizing appropriate material handing devices, and placing items on shelves or carrying them elsewhere on station or within the catchment area. Must maintain applicable training and licensing to operate assigned equipment. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm Telework: Ad-Hoc eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
