About the Position: This position is located at Camp Lejeune Medical Center, Family Medicine for a Physician Assistant GS-0603-12. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This announcement is an open continuous announcement. Applications will be reviewed and referred for selection at periodic cut-off dates.
- Performs medical screening examinations in an inpatient or outpatient setting for patients of all ages.
- Supports medical readiness by performing periodic health assessments, deployment health assessments, separation physicals, commissioning physicals, and retirement physicals.
- Examines patients and performs initial patient work-up and assessment of patients' care and treatment, and determines the need for and orders laboratory tests, X-rays and other procedures necessary to complete assessment of the patient.
- Diagnoses disease, illness disorder or injury; institutes treatment of patients; and seeks the advice of appropriate physicians for more serious or uncommon conditions.
- Participates in all required processes including Medical Staff programs, accreditation/inspection preparations, and risk management activities as assigned.
