This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program(EDRP),a student loan payment reimbursement program.You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. • The Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) in the Chemistry and Urinalysis Section of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) responsible for the performance of the full range of technical and administrative duties required in the Chemistry and Urinalysis Section within Eastern Kansas Healthcare System. The Lead CLS identifies, distributes, balances work, coaches, and facilitates with problem solving methods. The Lead CLS is responsible for all aspects of operation in this are of specialty including assignment of work responsibilities, workload management, and completion of assignments for staff at or above the FPL, preparation and maintenance of records and reports, analysis of testing methodologies, training, instrumentation and compliance. In addition, coordinates the technical functions of the section and performs competency assessments. The Lead CLS performs routine as well as specialized studies, responsible for solving complex problems, performing difficult specialty procedures, and modifying or adapting new methods or techniques to improve or expand services. The Lead CLS utilizes technical skills for day-to-day operations that affect the Chemistry and Urinalysis section. The Lead must have a good working knowledge of every section within the clinical laboratory. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Maybe required to work rotating scheduled weekends, scheduled holidays, and irregular tours. Telework: Not Available. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
