About the Position: The Social Worker (Clinical) provides support to the A. T. Augusta Military Medical Center at Dumfries Health Clinic in Dumfries, Prince William VA, helping ensure consistent, high-quality patient care and facility operations. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
- Provide treatment to highly complex cases in which individuals are severely impacted by moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses.
- Collect biopsychosocial information about patients through interview, case history, observation techniques, and other assessment methods.
- Analyze information collected to identify symptoms, determine psychiatric diagnosis and develop treatment plan.
- Evaluate results of counseling methods to determine the effectiveness of treatment used.
- Independently provide comprehensive social work services in the form of casework and case management by consulting on or developing discharge plans.
