This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center at Port San Antonio, TX. This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

  • Serves as the Senior Electronics Technician and principal technical authority for the Venture Entertainment Program. Provides enterprise-wide technical leadership for the planning, installation, integration, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and modernization of slot machines, progressive gaming systems, surveillance interfaces, network-connected gaming equipment, and associated electronic, electrical, electromechanical, and communications systems supporting gaming operations worldwide. The program's subject matter expert will provide authoritative guidance to senior management, field personnel, contractors, manufacturers, and vendors on gaming technology, system reliability, maintenance standards, operational readiness, modernization, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. Exercises independent judgment in resolving complex and unprecedented technical problems, establishing technical standards, developing maintenance strategies, and advising management on requirements affecting installations throughout the enterprise. Serves as the subject matter expert for electronic gaming and related technologies. Provides expert consultation on equipment performance, maintenance, reliability, operational readiness, and modernization. Plans, coordinates, and oversees installation, configuration, testing, sustainment, upgrades, and repair of slot machines, progressive systems, electronic controllers, surveillance interfaces, digital displays, computer hardware/software, and communications equipment. Performs advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis of complex electronic, electromechanical, software, and communications systems; develop corrective actions and solutions to restore operations and prevent recurrence. Develops and manages preventive maintenance programs, inspection and testing schedules, calibration requirements, certification standards, and reliability initiatives; evaluates performance trends and recommends process improvements, equipment modifications, and lifecycle replacement strategies. Research and evaluates emerging gaming technologies, equipment enhancements, software upgrades, and modernization initiatives; analyzes technical specifications, operational requirements, lifecycle costs, maintainability, compatibility, and risks to support procurement and long-range program planning. Establishes technical standards, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, SOPs, and program documentation, ensuring compliance with manufacturer requirements, gaming regulations, internal controls, cybersecurity requirements, and organizational policies. Serves as program lead instructor and technical trainer. Develops and delivers classroom, laboratory, field, and individualized training; mentors' technicians and operators and evaluates workforce development requirements to maintain a highly skilled technical workforce. Provides oversight during installations, upgrades, inspections, and operational assessments and coordinates with manufacturers, software providers, contractors, regulatory representatives, and installation personnel to resolve technical issues and ensure successful project execution. Conducts worldwide technical inspections and operational assessments to evaluate equipment condition, maintenance effectiveness, compliance, readiness, reliability, and adherence to established standards; findings and recommendations. Prepares and presents technical briefings, reports, analyses, and recommendations to senior leadership concerning system performance, reliability, modernization, operational risks, resource requirements, and program effectiveness. Maintains technical currency through manufacturer certifications, professional training, industry research, and other professional development. Perform other related duties as assigned.
