This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Natick Directorate of Public Works.

  • Install , repair and maintain HVACR systems which frequently must be modified to meet specific and critical conditions in laboratories and other experimental and test activities.
  • Dismantle, repair and reassemble units such as compressors, pumps, valves, fans and bearings.
  • Install, repair, and maintain large, complex, high and low pressure heat exchangers having a great variety of complicated components, parts, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Systems maintained include components such as baffles, breechings, superheaters, preheaters, economizers, and feed water regulators.
  • Mechanic must be able to operate and adjust and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems which are controlled by computer based systems, such as direct digital, microprocessor, electropneumatic, electronic and automated logic systems.
