- Performs a variety of office duties which include, but are not limited to: composing and typing general office correspondence, filing, receiving incoming telephone calls, maintaining office records, locating and compiling information from files, and general clerical support work. Conducts routine safety, fire, and environmental inspections of the complex and prepares reports for the Safety Managers review. Documents deficiencies and submits recommendations for corrective action. Compiles Data for and completes various reports for the Safety Manager's review and approval, prior to submitting to regional and Central Office. Responsible for issuing, filing and maintaining staff Workers Compensation Claims. Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets master file to include tracing in database program and conducts routine accident investigation. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
