This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. • VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU The DOM-SUD Senior Social Worker serves as Lead Social Worker and Admissions Coordinator for the residential Domiciliary Substance Use Disorder Program. Provides advanced clinical assessments, psychotherapy, case management, referral coordination, suicide risk assessment, and program oversight to support complex Veterans in a residential SUD/mental health setting. Duties include but are not limited to: Serves as Lead Social Worker and DOM-SUD Admission Coordinator, independently conducting comprehensive screening assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and clinical interviews for Veterans referred to the program. Coordinates all admissions functions including referral evaluation, medical and psychiatric screening, Bed Management Solution (BMS) entry, policy integration, data collection, reporting, and communication with referral sources. Provides advanced-practice individual, group, couples, and family psychotherapy and case management for Veterans with complex mental health, substance use, and psychosocial conditions within a residential treatment setting. Maintains ongoing contact with Veterans awaiting placement, reassesses suicide/homicide risk, and coordinates detoxification or alternative care referrals as clinically needed. Develops treatment plans, makes independent clinical recommendations to interdisciplinary teams, completes Comprehensive Suicide Risk Assessments, and adjusts treatment based on Veteran progress. Builds and maintains community referral networks, facilitates timely transfers, and collaborates closely with inpatient psychiatry, withdrawal management services, HCHV, outpatient mental health, GEC, and community partners. Collects, maintains, and analyzes statistical data; develops performance improvement monitors; and participates in program evaluation and modification, including NEPEC participation. Provides consultation, education, and mentoring to colleagues, students, and interdisciplinary team members on psychosocial treatment in specialty mental health areas. Supports the Program Manager by assisting with accreditation preparation (e.g., Joint Commission, CARF), administrative tasks, and acting as clinical lead in the Program Manager's absence, including possible on-call duties. Documents independently in CPRS, maintains treatment records, monitors ongoing progress, adjusts interventions, and ensures compliance with VA standards for documentation and patient care.
