This facility provides ambulatory care, inpatient care and community health services to the people residing within that area. The outpatient Iina' Counseling Services program provides services at the rate of approximately 19,000 visits per year. This position is located in the Iina' Counseling Services, Mental Health Department, Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, NM. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
- - Conducts psychological tests for differentiating between organic and functional causes of emotional disturbances and/or behaviors. - Provides assessment, diagnosis and psychotherapy utilizing a broad range of therapeutic techniques as indicated by the specific needs of children, adolescents, adults, groups, and their families. - Provides thorough and concise written documentation of evaluations, treatment and case management services, psychological test summaries, treatment plans, referrals, and correspondence. - Documents and forwards appropriate clinical referrals and records and liaisons with outside treatment professionals and the local contract health billing office. - Provides consultation to a wide variety of Indian Health Service staff including physicians and other health care professionals, paraprofessionals, and mental health clinicians in providing and interpreting psychological evaluations and testing. - Participates in clinic, hospital-wide, and area-wide continuing education activities by providing accredited and non-accredited in service trainings on a rotational basis to physicians, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, administrators and mental health professionals Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Psychologist Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov)
