Join NASA as an Environmental Protection Specialist and help lead Agency-wide cultural resources management. You will guide implementation of NASA's Nationwide Programmatic Agreement, support historic preservation and Section 106 compliance, and collaborate across NASA and with external partners to advance mission priorities. This is a temporary promotion or detail opportunity not to exceed ONE (1) YEAR with the option to extend or make permanent without further competition.
- Lead and coordinate Agency-wide implementation of NASA’s Nationwide Programmatic Agreement (NPA) and Cultural Resources Management Program.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to NASA Centers on cultural resources compliance, including National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and Section 106 requirements.
- Lead planning and execution of architectural surveys and development of NASA Historic Properties Virtual Tours.
- Develop Agency-wide cultural resources policies, guidance, reporting processes, and implementation strategies.
- Coordinate and consult with State Historic Preservation Officers, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, Tribal Nations, and other external stakeholders.
