Job Description

Collin County is seeking exceptional candidates to fill the position of Benefits Representative. A Benefits Representative is responsible for, but not limited to, the day-to-day administration of benefits for county employees. Work is performed under the direction of the Human Resources Risk Manager.

Primary Functions

  • Administration of benefits for county employees including retirement, medical, dental, life insurance, long-term care, short-term and long-term disability, and FMLA. 
  • Assisting employees by answering benefit questions and providing benefit information.
  • Assisting with enrollment forms and insurance claims.
  • Preparing correspondence and reports.
  • Processing insurance administration bills and entering new-hire paperwork.  
  • Presenting new-hire orientation.
  • Performing other duties as assigned. 
  • The current opening has a primary focus on FMLA and other leave administration and reports to the Human Resources Risk Manager. 

Minimum Qualifications 
 

  • Must possess the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Human Resources or a related field
  • At least two (2) years or more of experience, preferred. 
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail are required. 
  • Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Canva. PeopleSoft experience is strongly preferred.
