This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Greater Greenville Mental Health Center. This position will work three (3) days per week at the Simpsonville Clinic, 20 Powderhorn Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29681 and two (2) days per week at the Greer Clinic, 20 Executive Dr, Greer, SC 29651.
This position will provide direct nursing services to patients who are chronically mentally ill and targeted as needing intensive services.Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse, Non-Institutional:
Provide direct service to patients who are chronically mentally ill and targeted as needing intensive services through nursing assessment, medication monitoring, administration, patient and family teaching, home visits as needed, and referrals to other agencies and lifestyle health care facilities, and alcohol /drug treatment facilities.
Adhere to all Corporate Compliance, Outcome Evaluation, Research and Continuity of Care Policies and procedures. Maintain documentation of clinical services in accordance with State/Center/Quality Assurance standards.
Assist with patient assistant medications and prescription medications received in medication room, including logging in meds, labeling, storage and disbursement.
Participate in treatment team and other staff meetings and assist in the formulation and development of patient treatment planning and program development.
Assist with metabolic and urine drug screenings as scheduled and prn.
Additional Requirements:
- Position is considered essential and may be called back during crisis/disasters/emergencies.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
- knowledge of nursing practice and theory.
- the ability to organize, participate in and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary health team.
- the ability to access community health needs and resources.
