This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. • Functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. They demonstrate sound decision-making and judgment and possess excellent interpersonal skills. They are self-directed and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and leading innovative process improvement initiatives. Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex client care. The Nurse III Nurse Manager (NM) is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other NMs as needed. Responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance. Functions as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes. The NM maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP). Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement. Supports colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care. Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals. Contributes professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team. Partners with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes. Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations. Responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level. Program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility. The Nurse Manager, Telehealth supervises Telehealth, VA Clinics, and the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU). He/she is integral in maintaining and improving current programs, the development of new telehealth processes and programs, and activation of MMU programs and services. The Nurse Manager serves as the program manager of the MMU. The Telehealth Program is an integrated program that crosses services and disciplines. The Nurse Manager provides oversight and leadership for the interdisciplinary program on a day-to-day basis, working with and training all levels of staff impacted by telehealth programs and/or technology. To assure the quality of this innovative healthcare modality, the incumbent must be involved in ongoing quality management activities and performance measures. The Nurse Manager functions with a high degree of interpersonal and communication skills, independence, leadership, motivation, self-direction, organization and initiative. The incumbent must be available to travel frequently. The incumbent is responsible for the direct supervision of staff working in assigned programs. The Nurse Manager additionally coordinates coverage for Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Telehealth Care Technicians (TCTs), VA Clinics, and the MMU. Will provide patient care when needed and travel frequently, in addition to providing the leadership for ongoing program development. The Nurse Manager works collaboratively with all interdisciplinary staff and staff within the rural areas impacted by telehealth programs, technology, and the MMU.
