- As a Paralegal Specialist within the Appellate Division of the United States Attorney's Office, Western District of Pennsylvania, you will: Utilize a variety of automated legal research tools as well as public informationdatabases to research legal matters. Review and organize factual material and other documentary data forinvestigations and trials. Draft and process a variety of substantive legal documents to include extraditionrequests, grand jury and trial subpoenas, interrogatory requests, anddocumentation relevant to acquiring evidence or testimony. Prepare exhibits for trial which typically involves a wide range of visual materialsincluding charts, graphs, and tables. Provide litigation case management and organize cases for court presentation. Collect, analyze and evaluate evidence in connection with hearings, appeals, litigation,and advisory services. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
