- Delivers a wide variety of courses in correctional procedures, policies, and techniques. The subject matter is complex, constantly changing, and often controversial. Required to develop and teach basic, advanced and specialized programs. These classes are heterogeneous in nature, comprised of employees with widely different bases of experience and drawn from a wide range of specialties including medical services (doctors, dentists, psychiatrists), clerical specialists, correctional officers, secretaries, business office personnel, food service employees, unit management employees, etc. Serves as a subject matter expert to the field locations, which requires a broad range of knowledge and experience related to Bureau of Prisons policy and procedure, as well as demonstration of sound correctional practices.
