You will serve as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Recruitment and Placement) with Office of the Secretary of Interior. The vacancy for this position will be filled in the following branch: Office of the Secretary, Office of Human Resources This position is suitable for telework and the incumbent may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval.

• Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Provides daily supervision to HR Specialists performing recruitment and placement tasks, including merit promotion and delegated examining activities. Assigns work, sets priorities, monitors workload, and ensures timely, accurate case processing. Provides technical direction on interpreting qualification standards, addressing complex staffing scenarios, and resolving non-routine hiring issues. Serves as the team's senior technical expert on difficult or unusual staffing cases. Interprets hiring regulations, OPM qualification standards, merit system requirements, and agency policies to resolve issues escalated by subordinate staff. Exercises full first-line supervisory authority over HR Specialists. Conducts performance evaluations, provides coaching, identifies training needs, and recommends awards or corrective actions.
