The primary purpose of the Maintenance Worker is to perform recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for Seasonal Staffing Office-Pullman National Historical Park is October - April, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: September 2026.
- Some of the Maintenance Worker Standard Duties include but are not limited to: Utilize a variety of materials, tools, and equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and grounds. Perform minor carpentry repairs of limited difficulty to buildings and quarters. Construct, install, repair and replace such items as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets. Perform routine maintenance at different sites and visitor facilities, to include cleaning restrooms, and making minor repairs as needed. May perform other duties such as painting equipment, masonry work, roofing, welding or assisting higher grade worker with maintenance of utility systems in the facility. Operate a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites. Chainsaw and Power Equipment operation to complete trail work and/or vegetation work. Operates light trucks/ATVs to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites while assisting on project work.
