Directly provides medical treatment of Infectious Diseases to veterans. Provides appropriate and direct oversight of mid-level providers, Infectious Diseases resident physicians, and other trainees present in the Infectious Diseases clinic. Receives and provides triage and disposition for Infectious Diseases consults from VA providers as assigned. Perform and interpret the results of laboratory tests from blood and other tissues to evaluate Infectious Diseases and the effect(s) of therapy. Guide clinical trainees in Infectious Diseases providing both didactic and experiential teaching. Provide professional (in-person or through telemedicine means) advice and consultation in areas related to Infectious Diseases including Travel Medicine. Knowledge of clinical research literature related to Infectious Diseases. Maintains a caseload of outpatient panel in the HIV specialty PACT (using in-person and telemedicine means) and an excellent knowledge in HIV and primary care. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Subject to change based on the needs of the agency.
