This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Offices of Hearings and Inquiries (OHI). As a Supervisor Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team overseeing contractors, systems, and workflows supporting the Marketplace appeals program; coordinate IT linkages; advise CMS leadership on program improvements; and ensure appeals processes are fair, timely, effective, and reliable.
- Serving as first-level supervisor and Division Director, leading a staff responsible for implementing the use of information technology and data systems in the Marketplace appeals process.
- Managing the work of subordinates by planning assignments, setting priorities, and establishing schedules.
- Serving as technical expert and advisor to CMS leadership at the group, office, and agency level.
- Analyzing program needs, projecting multi-year funding requirements, and preparing detailed justifications for all requested resources.
- Managing staff that oversee the operations and IT systems contracts necessary to support appeals functionality.
