FLEET MECHANIC / DIESEL & TRAILER TECHNICIAN
Charlotte, NC | Full-Time | Starting at $28/hour, based on experience
JOIN FLEET EQUIPMENTFleet Equipment is expanding in Charlotte, NC, and we are looking for an experienced Fleet Mechanic / Diesel & Trailer Technician to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to help build a new operation while working on commercial trailers and fleet equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, brake, suspension, lighting, air, and trailer systems.
- Repair or replace brakes, hubs, bearings, suspension, landing gear, doors, lights, wiring, and other components.
- Perform welding/fabrication when qualified.
- Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records.
- Communicate equipment conditions and repair needs to the Service Manager.
- Complete work safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
- Assist with priority repairs and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Experience as a Fleet Mechanic, Trailer Mechanic, Diesel Technician, Heavy-Duty Technician, Truck Technician, or similar role.
- Commercial trailer or heavy-duty equipment experience preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, brake, and suspension systems.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
- ASE, TIA, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
Military mechanics and heavy equipment technicians are encouraged to apply.
