POSITION SUMMARY:
Puyallup Tribal Enterprises (PTE) is looking for a Director of Creative and Production to join our dynamic team. This position directs our creative vision, brand integrity, and multi-medium content generation across our commercial enterprise portfolio spanning logistics, fuel, specialty printing, construction, retail/DTC, golf, hospitality, and entertainment. This is a working creative leadership role. Operating as the direct creative counterpart to the Marketing Campaign & Account Manager, this leader manages our internal creative function, concepts, writes, designs, and produces high-impact assets. We rely on this position to unify written messaging with visual execution, oversee website and email channels, and ensure every enterprise brand presents an exceptional standard in market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop campaign concepts, messaging frameworks, headlines, scripts, and promotional copy; write and edit copy across websites, email campaigns, advertising, packaging, and collateral, translating complex business offerings into persuasive communications
- Personally design and produce high-priority creative assets across print and digital touchpoints; prepare accurate, production-ready files with strict adherence to dimensions, resolution, color profiles, bleeds, accessibility, and technical specifications
- Act as brand steward for PTE and its diverse operating businesses; develop and maintain practical style guides, reusable templates, and modular design systems so each company maintains a distinct identity under our enterprise umbrella
- Direct the visual presentation, content quality, and brand integrity of PTE and entity websites; write copy, create graphics, update landing pages, and collaborate with technical web developers on code-level updates, integrations, and mobile responsiveness
- Build, test, and deploy branded email campaigns, customer newsletters, and automated workflows within our marketing platforms; write subject lines, preview text, and body copy, evaluating performance metrics to refine future creative iterations
- Storyboard, script, and shoot photo and video content for products, people, venues, and campaigns; execute hands-on capture and post-production editing for internal assignments while directing outside crew and talent for complex shoots
- Scrutinize incoming projects to determine when specialized freelance, agency, or production support is required; build detailed creative scopes, evaluate estimates, direct outside partners, and inspect final proofs against brand and quality standards
- Partner closely with the Senior Marketing Campaign Manager to review campaign briefs, provide realistic effort and production estimates, highlight creative constraints early, and balance creative workloads
- Concept, design, and produce high-quality creative work across digital and physical mediums, including digital advertising, video/motion graphics, social content, brand identity systems, print collateral, environmental graphics, and retail packaging
- Direct and execute end-to-end production runs—including art direction, graphic design, layout, photo/video capture, and basic post-production editing
- Partner closely with the Senior Marketing Campaign and Account Manager to review campaign briefs, confirm technical specifications, assess project feasibility, and maintain production velocity
- Conduct hands-on quality reviews across all final deliverables to verify formatting, resolution, typographic precision, brand accuracy, and technical readiness before delivery
- Champion PTE values and work to teach and promote them throughout PTE
- Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
- Use all company resources efficiently to promote maximum results for PTE; maintain PTE equipment and assets to maximize return on investment
- Strictly follow workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard PTE assets at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, Creative Writing, Advertising, or equivalent industry experience
- 10+ years of progressive creative experience spanning concept development, professional copywriting, graphic design, and multimedia production within an agency, corporate creative department, or multi-business setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in both visual art direction/design and direct-response/brand copywriting
- Advanced expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects), modern digital tools (e.g., Figma), CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), and major email marketing systems
- Deep technical knowledge of commercial print specifications, prepress proofing, website content management, and digital accessibility standards
- Proven ability to tailor voice, copy, and visual design across distinct sectors from industrial B2B operations to consumer retail, fuel, golf, and live entertainment
- Highly productive, self-directed working style with the ability to maintain creative quality and strict accuracy under firm deadlines
- Direct, candid, and solution-oriented communication style when evaluating scopes, capacity, and creative trade-offs with operational counterparts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Relates well to all people, diplomatic/gracious; builds good relationships without compromising results
