This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel within the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: As Section Chief, is responsible for planning, scheduling, staffing, directing, and controlling the preparation of preliminary and final detailed civil engineering designs and project site development for civil works projects.
- Exercises technical and administrative supervision over a workforce of approximately 14 professional, technician, and support personnel in grades through NH-03/GS-13.
- Ensures designs are properly coordinated with Federal, state and local governmental representatives/agencies.
- Makes adaptations necessary to meet changing Federal, state, and local requirements in design.
- Coordinates and reviews section member efforts in preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and work products.
- Assigns and explains work requirements, keeps informed of work progress and reviews completed work for adequacy and soundness of judgment used.
