This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located in the USDB Sub Facilities Engineer Branch and requires frequent, direct contact with inmates.This position has been designated as primary/rigorous and is eligible for Law Enforcement (LEO) retirement coverage.The maximum entry age for this position is 37 years old.
- As a Plumber, you will perform the following duties which is not all inclusive list:
- Independently install, modify, repair and maintain a variety of new and existing utility, supply and disposal systems and equipment.
- Plan work based on oral instructions, preventive maintenance programs, work orders, emergency calls, blueprints, drawings, specifications, and layout sketches.
- Plan the sequence of work and determines the appropriate tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete assigned projects.
- Use sound judgment to identify and resolve routine issues and refers unusual or difficult problems to the supervisor.
