SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health -164 Waccamaw Medical Park Dr, Conway, SC 29526.

Working under limited supervision, providing therapeutic services, particularly as a specialist for outpatient services for Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, clinicians will see adult patients. Provide counseling and case management dealing with situations encompassing interpersonal, health and psychosocial factors. Provide all services for all patients at WCMH. Provide after hours emergency services as directed by the clinic director. 

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I:

• Provide therapy, emergency services and case management services to persons experiencing emotional disturbances, to include assessments, crisis intervention, individual, group and family therapy, patient and family education and home visits as needed. 
• Provide counseling services to clients of the WCMH on a full-time basis (37.5 hrs./week).
• Establish and maintain documentation of charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, local, OMH, WCMH, Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and CARF standards. 
• Provide a variety of coordination and consultation services with the school, community agencies and OMH staff. 
• Create, plan and educate the community through conducting workshops and presentations in regard to mental health issues. 

• A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
• (1) One year experience in a clinical counseling program. 

Additional Requirements

• Ability to provide a valid driver's license and a 10-year driving record. 
• Ability to hear at normal volumes, stand, walk, reach, pull, stoop, bend.
•  Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and climb 2 flights of stairs. 

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. 
• Must be able to meet OMH credentialling requirements.

• Ability to provide thorough knowledge of the range and scope of services provided in a comprehensive mental health program serving adults, children and families and the unique treatment needs of the special population. 
• Ability integrate and coordinate services with those of other disciplines and to communicate effectively.  
• Must be able to perform case management, interviewing and assessment skills.
• Participate in on-going in-service training and other educational opportunities in order to maintain and/or acquire necessary skills.
