Location: Boone, North Carolina | PRN | 12-Hour Shifts

- Compensation: Starts at $34.00/hour, based on experience, education, and internal equity.
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week with an every-third-weekend rotation.

- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to patients presenting with urgent, emergent, and critical healthcare needs.
- Utilize the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, and evaluate) to guide patient care throughout the Emergency Department experience.
- Monitor and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, mobilizing appropriate resources as needed.
- Safely administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide compassionate education, support, and communication to patients and families during critical situations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience
- Previous Registered Nurse experience required.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12 months of hire.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to patient safety, professional ethics, and patient dignity.
- Ability to remain calm and focused during emergencies and rapidly changing situations.
- Lift, position, and transfer patients weighing more than 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and patient movement activities.
- Manual dexterity and mobility necessary to provide emergency nursing care.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and emergency situations.
- Rotating schedules may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Fast-paced Emergency Department environment requiring flexibility, rapid decision-making, and sound clinical judgment.
