This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Ice Harbor Project is a multi-purpose hydropower project, with missions including operation and maintenance of the facility for flood control, hydroelectric power generation with six main generating units, navigation locks, fish facility, recreation and natural resources management.
- Makes cuts and fills, piles earth for embankments, backfills, etc., and performs rough and finish grading maintenance of roads and grounds and construction of new roads and ground areas.
- Operates excavator, mobile crane, grader, diesel powered landing craft/barge, bulldozer, street sweeper, snow plows, dump trucks, tractor trailer combo for hauling heavy equipment, front end loader, backhoe, fork lift, up to 40 foot work boats.
- Assists with new installation and repair and maintenance of irrigation and plumbing systems.
- Assists with carpentry, welding and cement work in the maintenance of Project and recreational facilities.
- Continuously performs inspection, preventative maintenance, minor repairs and servicing of all equipment assigned.
