POSITION SUMMARY
Puyallup Chocolates is seeking a skilled Production Line Specialist to join our team. This position supports the final stages of food manufacturing by packaging finished products, applying labels, aggregating completed items, and preparing products for storage or shipment to distribution outlets. They also perform other general production duties as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Excellent attendance for all scheduled shifts
- Support packaging operations during the final stages of the manufacturing process, including packing finished products, applying labels, aggregating packaged items, and preparing products for storage or shipment
- Follow verbal and written work instructions, standard operating procedures, production specifications, and assigned priorities
- Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with company food safety, sanitation, hygiene, allergen-control, and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements
- Perform assigned tasks independently for short periods of approximately one to two hours while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety expectations
- Safely work with or near general production and packaging machinery in accordance with training and established procedures
- Work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate appropriately with coworkers, team leaders, and supervisors
- Maintain an orderly and sanitary work area and promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, product issues, or process deviations
- Inspect finished packaged items and identify and remove products that do not meet company quality standards or specifications
- Verify packaging and labels for visible defects, accuracy, and completeness as assigned.
- Immediately communicate actual or potential quality-control or food-safety concerns to a supervisor or designated quality representative
- Follow required procedures for segregating, holding, or disposing of nonconforming product
- Perform other related production duties as assigned
- Identify opportunities for improvements, identify potential areas of risk, and promptly share critical business information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout Puyallup Chocolates
- Coordinate effective teamwork and use all company resources efficiently to promote superior financial results for Puyallup Chocolates; maintain Puyallup Chocolates equipment and assets to maximize ROI
- Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
- Strictly enforce workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses; consistently wear and utilize all required PPE
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard Puyallup Chocolates assets at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to learn and consistently follow food safety, quality, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements
- Ability to communicate concerns clearly and work cooperatively as part of a production team
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing production environment
- Ability to work in a loud or noisy manufacturing environment and use required personal protective equipment
- Ability to stand and work in a general production area for periods of at least eight hours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently
- No food-related allergies to milk, eggs, tree nuts, wheat, and/or soy products
- Culturally sensitive and works well with the full diversity of our company and community
- Uncompromising integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to regularly work any shift to accommodate business needs, including nights, weekends, and, holidays
- Ability to pass background check
Preferred
- Any educational, vocational, or technical certifications in related field
- Understanding of OSHA, USDA, FDA, HAZMAT, HACCP and other applicable food safety regulations
- Experience within manufacturing plant environment
- Ability to speak Spanish
