Maintenance Repairman 2 - Laurel Hill State Park

As a Maintenance Repairman 2 for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at Laurel Hill State Park, you will play an important role in keeping park facilities in strong working order. This position gives you the chance to use and grow your abilities in carpentry, electrical work, masonry, and equipment repair. This position focuses on performing skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work across multiple parks in the Laurel Hill Complex. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:

• Building Repair: Repair park buildings, install windows, and doors, perform carpentry, and maintain historic structures
• Utility Work: Perform electrical and plumbing tasks in park buildings, campgrounds, and overnight facilities
• Equipment Operation: Assist with operating backhoes, skid steers, dump trucks, snowplows, and related equipment
• Automotive Service: Complete vehicle maintenance tasks such as welding, painting, lubrication, brake repair, and tire work
• Tool Management: Maintain tools, equipment, and shop areas in clean working condition and track inventory of repair materials
• Technical Troubleshooting: Use blueprints, drawings, and schematics to identify and resolve equipment and facility issues

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work schedule varies; will work 5 days per week (37.5 hours total), including holidays and weekends.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License. 

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
