The Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL)/Accreditation Coordinator works in the Quality and Patient Safety Service Line at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. The RN-CNL applies evidence-based practice, complexity science, and improvement strategies to enhance care within diverse populations. The incumbent leads interprofessional teams, advances health equity, evaluates outcomes, and promotes holistic, patient-centered care across the microsystem.
- Duties include but are not limited too: Integrates principles of complexity science into healthcare management for adaptive approaches. Applies improvement science to enhance performance measurement and quality improvement. Utilizes data sources to evaluate care outcomes and benchmark against standards. Plans and delivers evidence-based interventions at the microsystems level to optimize care delivery and patient outcomes. Assess care outcomes using improvement science and systems theory within complex healthcare environments. Coordinates organizational readiness activities/process for survey by Joint Commission (TJC), Office of the Inspector General (OIG), and other external reviews. Completes annual reports and data submissions, coordinators document submissions, and tracks external review recommendations to completion. Evaluates previously closed actions for sustained compliance. Consults with staff and management on ideas for standards/regulatory compliance. Educates staff across the medical center on standards and regulations relevant to care provided and change sin standards and regulations.
