This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Qualified applicants will be referred to the selecting official as available from the opening date of the announcement. The Department of Surgery at the Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York is recruiting for a Vascular Surgeon. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care and surgery to our Veterans as well as teaching and resident supervision. Duties and responsibilities are carried out throughout the VA Medical Center in Albany, New York and include: Participate in and/or manages all aspects of a general vascular program to include clinical, administrative, and academic components. Evaluates and/or manages a broad range of disorders of the peripheral vasculature. These include conditions of the abdominal aorta and its branches, lower and upper extremity vasculat1;1re, and the cervical vasculature. Perform open surgical procedures, endovascular operations and provide pre-op and post-op care as indicated for major and minor procedures, as well as consultation for inpatients and outpatients. Provide interpretation of studies from the Vascular lab. Maintain good diagnostic, judgmental, and therapeutic acumen. Participates in a shared rotation of night and weekend On­-Call coverage.
