The Development Manager will provide overall direction and oversight for the organization, ensuring that its programs, people, finances, and resources align with its mission. They work with staff, volunteers, board members, donors, and community partners to strengthen the organization, achieve its goals, and create meaningful and sustainable impact.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Non-Profit Strategy and Planning
Develop and implement a comprehensive non-profit strategy aligned with organizational goals and priorities.
Research funding opportunities; identify prospective partners.
Collaborate with senior leadership to establish non-profit funding targets and timelines.
Budgeting and Financial Oversight
Develop non-profit budgets and financial projections in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Monitor non-profit expenditures, financial reporting, and budget reconciliation to ensure non-profit funds are utilized effectively.
Provide regular updates to senior leadership on non-profit funding status and financial performance.
Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies
Create and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue goals.
Identify new funding opportunities, including grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and fundraising events.
Collaborate with the executive team to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities.
Fundraising Events and Campaigns
Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives to engage donors and raise funds.
Evaluate the success of fundraising events and recommend improvements for future initiatives.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Lead and mentor the fundraising and development team to foster a culture of excellence and achievement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and program staff, to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
Represent the organization at external events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and partnerships.
Community Engagement
Develop, coordinate, and manage volunteer programs and opportunities.
Develop strong relationships with donors, community members, partners, funders, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Education:
High school diploma / GED
Experience:
10 years of related experience in nonprofit management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work on multiple projects and meet time sensitive deadlines.
Ability to show a systematic effort to obtain needed data or feedback.
Strong written and oral communication skills and time management skills.
Highly attentive to detail
Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks/assignments simultaneously
Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and workplace terminology.

Hours:
This is a full-time position.
Days and hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00a.m. to 3:30p.m.
Hours may vary based on business needs of the department and some weekends, evening hours or holidays may be required during special events.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting.
This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Noise level in the work environment is usually average.
Physical Demands:
Essential functions involve significant physical demands related to repeated lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted; carrying materials / supplies; climbing, reaching and bending.
Frequently required to walk, sit, talk, drive, hear, bend, stoop, twist, and balance.
