Supervisory Social Worker (Program Coordinator)

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

• The Supervisory Social Worker Program Coordinator for Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS), Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program Compensated Work Therapy Transitional Residence (RRTP CWT-TR), and Mental Health Intensive Care Management (MHCIM), has clinical and programmatic responsibility for Mental Health care delivery in the programs. The incumbent has direct supervisory authority over staff assigned to the VRS, RRTP CWT-TR, and MHICM programs, Social Work and Addiction students who rotate through the programs, as well as overall programmatic and clinical responsibility of the programs Duties for this position include but not limited to: Oversees and approves financial transactions and budgets for Vocational Rehabilitation Services, RRTP CWT-TR, and MHICM programs. Completes statistical and other reports in accordance with VA Medical Center and respective professional discipline service policies Provides Mental Health professional services to patients participating in VRS, RRTP CWT/TR, and MHICM, as necessary, using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care. Advises the Chief, Mental Health Services of shifting trends with caseloads and identifying the need for and making recommendations on program procedure or policy changes based upon work experience. Documents all contacts with patients/families in Computerized Patient Record System Participates in national program conference calls regarding the assigned programs and attends VISN and National meetings as required.
