- Primarily, the incumbent will perform general custodial and janitorial work, grounds-keeping, operate light duty motor vehicles, and laboring duties. May work alone or with a small crew. Uses hand tools and electrical equipment to perform minor maintenance. Some of the Custodial Worker (Motor Vehicle Operating) Standard Duties include but are not limited to: Observe all safety requirements when using custodial, hand tools, and power tools, including personal protective equipment. Lift and move heavy objects or materials weighing over 50 pounds that do not require special handling such as carrying garbage cans, loading trash trucks, and lifting and moving heavy furniture for sustained periods of time. Grounds maintenance such as blowing leaves and shoveling snow on walkways, trails, and parking areas. Removes snow from entranceways, glass entranceway roof, sidewalks, and steps, etc. Daily cleaning of visitor use areas such as grounds, trails, and picnic area, emptying trash and recycle bins, and litter pick-up. Daily cleaning of park buildings and structures. Operation of motor vehicles to carry out duties.
