• Are you interested in helping develop the next generation of acquisition professionals? Do you want to gain experience in recruiting and developing young talent and hone your leadership skills? The Office of Acquisition Workforce is responsible for learning, development and certification programs for the DHS acquisition workforce. The Acquisition Professional Career Program (APCP) is a three-year developmental program used to recruit, train, and retain future acquisition leaders. We focus on technical training, professional skills, and the practical application of acquisition principles and procedures. APCP program managers participate in recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, training, and evaluating program participants. Participants are assigned to OCPO and detailed to DHS Components for on-the job training. As the supervisors of record, APCP program managers work with Component coordinators and supervisors to assess development and performance. Program managers also work with the Homeland Security Acquisition Institute and Acquisition Career managers to plan and adapt the learning plans for the participants
