Physician - Neurologist

Salary plus productivity and non-productivity incentives; sign-on incentive up to $25,000

JOB SUMMARY

The neurologist provides non-surgical specialty care for disorders of the brain and peripheral nerves. He/she performs physical examinations, reviews medical histories, prescribes medications, performs certain procedures, and orders various ancillary tests to diagnose and treat patients with neurologic symptoms and disorders.

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS includes the following, other duties may be assigned:

• Conduct comprehensive neurological evaluations by reviewing patient medical histories, symptoms, prior treatments, medications, and diagnostic findings to identify potential neurological conditions and contributing factors.
• Collaborate closely with primary care physicians, specialists, and referring providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care, communicate findings, and ensure continuity of treatment plans across the healthcare continuum.
• Perform a variety of neurological procedures, including lumbar punctures (LP), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), electroencephalograms (EEG), therapeutic injections, and other diagnostic or therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing, including EEGs, EMGs, NCS studies, laboratory work, CT scans, MRIs, PET scans, and other imaging or specialized neurological assessments to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Evaluate clinical findings and diagnostic results to establish neurological diagnoses and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that align with patient needs, goals, and best practices.
• Partner with multidisciplinary care team members and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely electronic health record (EHR) documentation, including patient encounters, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, test interpretations, and correspondence with providers.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) degree from an accredited medical school (American or Canadian).
• Satisfactory completion of an ACGME approved residency in neurology.

Training and Experience 

• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the clinical neurology practice required.   
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Must demonstrate well-developed communication skills and independent decision-making skills. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Current active unrestricted medical (DO or MD) license in Washington State required.
• Board Certified or Board eligible in Neurology.
• Active unrestricted DEA license required.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
