To assure a healthy, functional Hospital environment through the proper operation, control and maintenance of all piped-mechanical systems including: water, sewer, steam, medical gases, compressed air and natural gases. Monthly fire inspections, PM fire systems and or any other duties as directed to maintain compliance. Answer all calls - maintenance. Boiler PM coverage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Repairs faucets, toilets, traps, kitchen equipment, hot water and steam units, sprinklers, etc.
- Makes emergency repairs to all piping systems, water, sewer, etc.; repairs high pressure steam lines.
- Inspects, maintains and repairs medical gases, oxygen, suction, medical air, etc.
- Performs preventative maintenance and overhaul of valve stems
- Performs preventative maintenance repair of pumps, water, air, vacuum, etc.
- Repairs equipment, i.e., sterilizers, autoclaves and bed pan hoppers, etc.
- Maintains adequate stock of supplies required in assigned tasks
- Maintains current knowledge of State and local plumbing codes
- Completes required paperwork properly, using computer technology enhancements, as required; fulfills annual mandatory employee testing.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 yrs.
EDUCATION
- Less than High School; must read and write English
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Plumbing apprenticeship or related trade school training or other directly related experience.
- Licensed Plumber preferred
OTHER
- New York State Driver’s License
