This position is located at the Portland VA Medical Center (Portland and Vancouver campuses) and all associated Community Based Outpatient Clinics, in the Electrical/Electronics shop of the Maintenance and Repair section, Facilities Management Service.
- Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Installs, repairs, troubleshoots, and adjusts electronic systems and equipment such as nurse call system, alarm systems, relay control circuits, solenoid operated air & steam valves, computer peripherals, etc. Tests and performs preventative maintenance on electronic systems and equipment using various test equipment and measuring devices such as digital multimeters, dual trace oscilloscopes. Identifies and isolates system failures, determines root cause, and repairs/modifies systems. Performs research and development work to modify and improve assigned electronic systems and/or procedures. Develops and implements various techniques for system requirements that involve multiple functions and categories of source data (pneumatic, electronic, electric, electromechanical). Plans and coordinates technical layout, installation, and follow up of all electronic systems. Performs other related duties as assigned.
